A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes...

...and dreams really do come true at Disneyland! What else could drag me out of my blogging lull except the fulfillment of my eldest son's lifelong ambition? That's right, Jake (excuse me, Jake Skywalker) fought the evil Darth Vader at the Jedi Training Academy at Disneyland.

We went to Disneyland a couple of days ago with some friends, and were hoping that all four of our kids would be chosen for the "Academy." We told them to wave their arms and scream to appear excited. Well, Jake turned out to be the only one from our group chosen, and I am certain that it had nothing to do with the fact that a strange woman (?...) was standing behind him screaming and pointing at him in hysterical efforts to get him face to face with Darth. Really. You have to step it up for these sort of things, okay?

Anyway, here are some pictures from the battle. I should have gotten a shot of our friends and Grace who participated by giving Jake the force with their hands. It was pretty cute.

Activating the light saber during lessons.

One dad was really ticked off that his kid didn't get picked!

Can't you hear the dreaded music in the background? Dum, dum, dum, Dum, da, dum...

Our little Jedi.

What's this?

A BLOG ENTRY?

Finally.

I LOVE the pictures from Jake Skywalker's encounter with Darth Vader! Wish I could have been there. Was Jake gritting his teeth and whacking his light saber with all his might? Er... was Darth okay?

Darth Maul is pretty scary looking - wonder what Grace must have been thinking!

Did the Disneyland attendants send in the Mental Health Squad for that crazy woman who was standing behind Jake? Wish I had a picture of THAT.

Christie! How fun for your little Jake. I can't believe he wasn't scared of Darth Vader, and that other guy/monster/creepy looking thing. I am totally scared of them. Sheesh.

Anyway, glad to see a fresh post!

Welcome back! See? Everyone has missed your posts! You need to update weekly from now on. I didn't know there was such an academy. I seriously thought you signed him up or something. That is so cool that he got picked and was brave enough to go up against that scary man. I never liked that movie. He looks really cute in his cape looking down at his blue sword. What a fun day! See? I don't even know that you do half these things until you post about it. This is great. I am so excited to continue reading about your life. 2007 baby! The "sacret" is revealed! Ha hahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! ha!
